The previous time I attended a wedding at Lauderdale house – Highgate, was not as a photographer but as a guest at my friends’ wedding. I used to live in Tufnell park so Waterlow park was familiar turf and I’ve been to the house before.
This time I was photographing a wedding in this Highgate venue for a lovely couple which I’ve only met once but felt like I already know.
The wedding ceremony took place in Hampstead Perola. It was an exceptionally sunny day for London in October, with the kind of natural light that wedding photographers dream of. After the ceremony, the wedding party boarded a white London bus to Lauredale House for the wedding dinner.
Photographing the wedding portraits in the house’s gardens was easy and relaxed. I always want to get everyone relaxed so they can enjoy the moment. The setting was so beautiful, the light was spot on and I think it’s fair to say it would be difficult to take a bad photograph of this couple!
We had a chat and a bit of a walk around as we took some pictures.
If you’re looking for a tasteful wedding venue in north London I highly recommend checking out Lauderdale House in Highgate.
