Choosing a wedding venue is not always an easy task, espcially when there are so many to choose from. I wanted to share my experience as a photographer.
Over the years, I’ve been lucky to photograph many a beautiful day in the capital and here’s a first post with with some of my all time favourites wedding venues in London. (In no particular order) :
Islington town hall
I can’t count how many times I’ve shot here but it’s always been a great experience.
It could be the beautiful rooms the town hall has to offer, it could be the local area, Upper street’s bustling restaurants and bars, it could be the lovely registrars who always make it feel special, or it could, of course, be all the above.
The Mayor’s Parlour (top picture) is a lovely small sized room with wooden interiors. It’s perfect for intimate wedding ceremonies of up to 15 people.
The main hall is impressive yet warm. There’s plenty of light for photography and the room is very spacious.
It’s also handy having indoor options for photography inside the town hall itself with nicely lit corridors and a large indor strair case.
A beautiful venue in central London, Asia house is a walking distance to Oxford street yet New Cavendish Street is really quiet on weekends.
I love the big windows, high ceilings, staircase and decor.
It does get very busy so probably best to book early.
For more info visit on Asia house the website.
Hampstead heath pergola gardens
This is probably one of my favourite places, not only for weddings but also for relaxing summer afternoon. It’s breathtaking and anyone who loves Hampstead heath knows that there’s something special in the air there.
The pergola gardens are a gem and a bit of a secret. They’re not easy to find but definitely worth the effort. I have to thank Gemma for booking me to photograph her wedding and introducing this wonderful place to me. Highly recommended!
Booking information can be found here.
Thank goodness London has so many superb wedding venues to offer, more than can fit in a single post.
The list will continue in another blog post soon…
